Maternity photography is something that is becoming increasingly popular here in the UK.Since Annie Leibovitz’s 1991 Vanity Fair cover of pregnant Demi Moore, our attitudes towards capturing this beautiful and amazing time on film have changed. Maternity portraits are growing in popularity and are now an acceptable and popular way of capturing this special time. In fact, looking at the cover now, it is very hard to imagine the scandal it caused at the time isn’t it? Vanity Fair Cover
Pregnancy is such an amazing thing, I love to help Mums- to-be to capture the memories before the gorgeous baby is here and that beautiful bump is gone. In fact many of my maternity customers are those expecting their last child but who want to have something to remember it by.
Sessions are best held between 33-37 weeks where possible, so that you have a lovely visable bump, but that you are not so uncomfortable to manage the session. If we leave it too late then baby might put in an early appearance and we miss it altogether! Your partner and other children are welcome to join in the session too.
My studio is small so please take a look at the portfolio & Blog to see examples of what can be achieve in the studio, or why not opt for an in home or on location maternity session?
