The Kids Photography course is aimed at children aged approx 7-14 who have an interest in Photography and wish to find out more!
The course is delivered at the Pennycress studio in Wymondham, over 5 hours and covers basic technical aspects of photography as well as some demonstrations and practical activities. There will be lots of ideas to take away and try, so much of the practice will be in their own time.
Topics covered include; A Photographer’s Toolkit, Basic Camera and Exposure Settings, Composition, Types of Lighting, Genres of Photography and Careers in Photography.
I am a former Primary School Teacher, Childminder and Trainer with a keen interest in helping children to follow their natural curiosity and passions! Whilst investigating home education as a possibility for our Son it occurred to me I may be able to help some local HE children who are interested in Digital Photography. I have had my own portrait photography business for over 8 years now and have been training adults for many years in Newborn photography. This is a brand new course for 2018 and if there is enough interest I will run it every season/term.
I do not currently hold an Enhanced DBS disclosure, as a self employed person I cannot obtain one myself but am investigating ways to get one done. I have had many CRB and DBS checks done for my previous roles in childcare, training and education but they have now expired. I recommend that a parent stays at the studio for the session (either per child or for the group as chaperone), and due to space requirements this means there are only 5 child spaces on each course.
Your child does not need to have a professional camera or flash guns etc, a compact “point and shoot” is fine for this course.
Each child will get their own course badge and completion certificate. Refreshments are provided at each session too.
A 5 hour course (either over 1 day or 5 sessions) is £50 per child.
1 Day Courses available in 2018 please get in touch to express interest.
