At Pennycress we offer a number of different portrait sessions, maternity, newborn, lifestyle and the cake smash….
MATERNITY SESSION
Pregnancy can be a magical time and pregnant women are beautiful, so why not capture this time and preserve the memories. A maternity session does not have to be about “getting your bump out” , I will work with you to get images you are comfortable and happy with. Sessions are ideally held at around 35 weeks, if you leave it too late you will feel tired, uncomfortable and we run the risk of baby arriving before we have captured the bump! Partners and any big brothers or sisters of the bump are more than welcome to join in with the session too. In terms of what to wear it really is up to you, this is your session so wear something fabulous! Anything that will enhance your beautiful bump and make you look and feel wonderful is perfect! If in doubt bring a selection and I will help you choose.
NEWBORN SESSION
Newborn sessions need to be held within the first 10 days after birth. In these first days not only does your baby have that true newborn look but they are mostly very sleepy and still curly from being in the womb. This means we can get some wonderful poses while they are dreaming away. Because of this narrow window of opportunity please book your session as far ahead as you can, ideally at least 3 months in advance of your due date.
Once you have a slot booked in then we can alter your session if little one is early or late. Sessions are typically held at the studio, where I have everything we need. My aim is for this to be an informal, relaxed experience, you will need to allow 4 hours for the session. If you would prefer I can come to your home, please get in touch for details.
FAMILY OR CHILD LIFESTYLE SESSION
Capture your children and the whole family in a relaxed outdoor setting, the studio is set in gorgeous grounds, great for exploring! You are welcome to bring along any props such as favourite toys or items from the family that hold some meaning. Perhaps you could have a lifestyle shoot of the family having a summer picnic, bug hunting in the woods or kicking autumn leaves. At any session I will spend time with your little ones getting to know them so that they feel comfortable and we can get the very best images. The grounds are also perfect for a teenage portrait session or couple’s shoot too!
THE CAKE SMASH
A fab idea for a first or second birthday, held at the studio where mess doesn’t matter! Dont forget to bring a change of clothes for little one and yourself!
